If I could make a living, doing what I love most, it would be setting up free mental health clinics and offering those services to those who could afford them. Substance abuse and mental health issues run rampant within our society; many of the services to combat these issues are expensive. Individuals already suffering during these tough economic times are not concerned about their mental health or how these tough times may be impacting their well-being. As a community outreach program, this would give me the opportunity to reach those individuals who are suffering, disheartened, and do not see a better way.
Mental health and substance abuse often times get over looked or physicians do not have the time to properly care for these individuals. The goal of this outreach is to provide every person, no matter their faith, their race, or sex a holistic approach that will attend to their health needs. Combating behavioral issues is a difficult task and should not be made more difficult by the affordability or availability of services.
