The importance of fitness is often overlooked in today’s society. America is a country of indulgence and often it is hard to find a happy medium when it comes to food. For some food is a comfort from the stressful lives they live, however this is detrimental to American health, According to Fasinfat.org a website on how Obesity threatens America’s future “Adult Obesity Rates Rising Over Time: More than two-thirds (68.7 percent) of American adults are either overweight or obese. In the past 30 years, adult obesity rates have more than doubled — from 15 percent in 1976-1980 to 35.7 percent in 2009-2010.”
These numbers are so high because many people are unaware how to make these healthy choices and automatically look to comfort food that is fast and easy. These people are uneducated because it is not often taught how to create a balanced lifestyle that is easy to maintain. Many people think healthy consists of eating lettuce, joining fad diets, and paying personal trainers hundreds month after month. To help solve this problem I would create a low charge public speaking seminar for schools and work places where I would personally educate people on finding a diet that fit their budget and personal goals. I would also reach out to people for free publicly in several areas and if they were interested in furthering the education with me I would contact them on a personal level for a much lower charge than a personal trainer.
