The career I am most interested in pursuing is a career in accounting. I hope to become an accountant of great influence within my community and the country or world. I know that a successful career in accounting would provide me with great opportunities to help others, my main focus in helping others would be making contributions to sufferers of mental illness. More specifically, people who suffer from Alzheimer’s, dementia, and depression. While many of those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia tend to be of older age, no person should ever have to suffer the loss of the memories or knowledge they have gained throughout their life. No one should ever have to forget the names of their family members or those important to them. Depression is another mental illness I would love to contribute to, having suffered from it for a long time, I would love nothing more than to end it for anyone suffering. Mental illnesses are often overlooked in today’s world, which can be understandable with all the various other illnesses present, but that does not mean mental illnesses should be completely ignored. With a degree in accounting, I truly believe that I will be successful, allowing myself to make contributions to finding cures for mental illnesses of all sorts. Curing mental illnesses along with many other illnesses can and will lead to a better world for the future generations to live in.
