If you’ve ever taken a child development courses you would know that children need to eat 3 healthy meals a day with snacks in between. Sadly the reality is that some children in different countries aren’t even getting one meal a day. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that nearly 870 million out of 7.1 billion are suffering from chronic undernourishment from 2010-2012. And in our own country in america about 14.5 percent of homes which is 17.6 million households factoring out to be 1 out of 7 .To some of us that seems unrealistic but the truth is its in our communities and neighborhoods, if you open your eyes you see people are always in need. I don’t necessarily know how I would end hunger forever nor do I believe I can but it’s an issues I found myself to be very passionate about and I know and believe the way we can not only end poverty and hunger is to start in our own communities . I find myself volunteering at local shelters and food drives. I believe if just once a month you lend a hand and volunteer we will be able to cut down those numbers even if its just a small percentage , it would be small percentage less! And then we would be a step closer to not only ending hunger but coming together as human beings.
