Whenever people ask me what kind of career I intend to pursue since my interests lie with English; most people assume I want to become either a teacher or writer as if those are the only viable options for a degree classified as one of the top ten worst college majors to earn. I heartily disagree with that assessment because I believe that english is vitally important because the written word is used in every field. I realized early on not listen to most people without this degree because they failed to understand that this field fosters many interesting jobs ranging from working in an art gallery writing the blurbs under paintings to writing the literature for businesses like banks and everything in between. I am open to exploring every option available to me that in some way utilizes my talents and interests. Though the tao of all directions for me would be an editor for a book publishing company; I feel that it would play to my strengths as both a self taught speed reader and aspiring autodidact. I enjoy reading other peoples ideas because while my personal plot ideas are generally not that great but I take great joy in fleshing out fledgling ideas. My dream job may not earth shattering but it doesn’t make it any less appealing for me. As for a plan I am just going to put one foot in front of the other in pursuit of my destination wherever it may lead me.
