A young man is found with a gunshot wound to his head. There’s another bullet entry into the wall nearby. What became of this? My name is Adrienne Martin and I want to be the next best forensic chemist you’ll ever meet! My inspiration came from a dark place when I lost my friend John to an accidental shooting. The limited forensic evidence found influenced me passionately enough to take on a career that not only brings closure to victims’ families, but also justice to those who disregard human lives.
John was a young man full of radiating energy and a positive light to others. He was on his way to getting his master’s degree in information technology and was soon going to travel to Argentina to be his brother’s best man. In one second, a loaded gun left neglectfully on his cousin’s dresser became his demise. How does this happen? If there was no intent, where does the blame lie? Accidents happen, but that doesn’t mean the evidence shouldn’t be collected and analyzed properly. How does a crime scene get properly investigated when evidence is cleaned by the family before proper analysis is conducted?
Forensic Science is a necessity in our world, as water is to a thriving plant. We need justice and closure for those who have become victim to such tragedies. I feel confident that I will make a difference and bring change. I can help the plant grow, just as our world needs growth.
