I have had a lot of time to think about what I want to be “when I grow up”. Helping families and children, specifically, is what I keep coming back to because making a positive difference in someone’s life is what I want to do most in this life I’ve been given. Social work is one way I can achieve doing what I love so much.
I believe that families who are given every opportunity to grow together in love and stability will go on to be a positive influence in their communities. The children in those families will grow up to be happy, well adjusted and worthy contributors to the economy and community. As they say, children are the future of the world. As a social worker, I can be hands on with these children and help them find their place in this world. Happy children who know where they belong in life can only lead to positive results in the future. My ultimate goal would be to set up a non-profit organization that focuses on getting children off the streets and back into their family homes so that they can grow up to reach their full potential and possibly have a hand in changing the world themselves.
