As of today I am about ninety percent accomplished with all of my goals towards obtaining my dream job. My dream job has always been to work with the animals at SeaWorld, and that is exactly what I get to do every day. I am only working part-time and in order to achieve full-time I need to finish my degree.
Most people who look at what I do say that all we do all day is play with the animals, but that is really just a small portion of the job. The reason I wanted to get into the field is because when I was very young I witnessed a dolphin die from an oil spill. It was a devastating sight to witness as a four year old, but in that moment I knew that I wanted to do everything in my power to teach people about the issues effecting not only dolphins but all marine life. That is exactly what I get to do every day when I am at work. Getting a child close up to the animals and establishing a connection that they will have for the rest of their lives is one of the best ways to get them to love the animals. It is my firm belief that you cannot protect that which you do not love and I am trying to foster that love
