They say, “If you love what you do, you will never have to work a day in your life”, and I agree with that statement 100%. For the past four years, I have been working as a swim instructor and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life yet. If I could earn a living doing what I love the most, it would be teaching children and adults how to swim. I love having clients who are petrified of the water and getting them to feel comfortable and confident in pool or ocean. I will never forget when a parent told me that their four year old daughter fell into a pool at a family party and used the skills I taught her to save her own life. It was the absolute best feeling in the world knowing that I made an impact on their lives. I feel as though this could change the world in a positive way because lives can be saved if people know the necessary skills to be able to swim and keep themselves safe in the water. If I could expand my knowledge and skills to others, I believe many adults and children would feel more confident in the water. One day I would love to open up my own swimming school , but on a smaller scale, I will continue to teach people the necessary skills they need to survive in water and hope that the skills get passed on to others.
