If I could earn a living doing what I love most, I would start a non-profit organization to raise money for cancer research. Ever since my dad had his cancer scare over the past year, I have wanted to get involved in finding a cure. My dream is to launch sporting tournaments where teams pay an entrance fee that will be donated to cancer research. Each team will be able to choose from the top five cancer research/treatment centers to donate to. Whichever team wins, all the proceeds will be donated to the center their team chooses. This would hopefully change the world by bringing awareness to cancer research and the importance of staying active.
Specific goals I would set to make this a reality would be to first finish college and find a mentor to guide me. I need to do both of these so that I will have the knowledge and skills to lay a foundation for starting an organization. I will also need to create a written plan to document exactly what I want to do, how I want to do it and what I need to do it. Lastly I would have a “trial tournament” to see how successful my idea actually is. This would be my dream job because I have always wanted to do something that would help others, and now cancer has opened my eyes to how I can do that.
