Say you took a poll, you asked adults from various places if they loved their job and if they feel like they’re actually making a difference in the world. I’d be willing to bet that a majority of them would say that they don’t enjoy their 9-5-desk job and they don’t think they matter. I believe that the young adults of my generation don’t want to live like that. I believe that they are willing to go to the ends of the earth in order to make their dream job a reality. As for myself I’d like to turn my hobby into a career, and give children the things I was given.
I’ve danced for fifteen years now, competitively, recreationally, and for my high school, but it wasn’t until my last year that I realized what a blessing it had been for me. Dancing isn’t about how high you can kick your leg or how effortlessly you make everything look; it’s about so much more. I’ve seen dance take people from the lowest of low to unbelievably incredible places. It’s such a magical thing. Dancing taught me to have confidence in myself and not let my inhibitions get the best of me. If I could become a teacher or mentor to children who dance I can help them find what they’re missing. Confidence is contagious and I would like to start an epidemic for those kids who don’t know how to find it themselves.
