If I could earn a living doing what I love most, I would become a fashion designer! Ever since I was young, I loved art and being creative. My mother and grandmother are talented sewers who taught me and sparked my dream. Unfortunately, my father disapproved of my career plan; the person that I’ve looked up to my whole life, for advice and guidance, yet he still won’t offer the support I need. Unwilling to change my mind, I am determined to prove to my father and everyone that I can succeed and accomplish my dream career. Now here I am, starting my second year at Purdue University, studying Apparel Design and loving every minute of it!
My plans to achieve my goal are to graduate in 2017 with Bachelor degrees in Apparel Design and Retail Management, being involved in internships, study abroad opportunities in the world’s leading fashion industries, New York, Paris, and London, and finally creating my own fashion lines leading to my own business.
How am I determined to change the world? In today’s society, fashions are stretching the boundaries of immodesty. I am here to challenge that. Most young women are already insecure about their body image. My goal is to create outfits for girls of all shapes and sizes; to empower them to look beautiful and confident. With my designs, I want to encourage women to recognize that their clothing choices are an outward expression of their inner beauty, that is my true-life goal!
