Decisions are sometimes difficult to make because of having so many choices to choose with millions of opportunities available. People have always asked me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I always wanted to say a rocket scientist, just to see their reaction. Since then I have realized I want to become something that is just as spectacular and academically challenging, a doctor. As I have advanced through my years of education and learning from shadowing with different surgeons, I was able to streamline my choices into becoming a doctor. Senescence affects everyone and in return there will always be somebody needing medical assistance. By studying Biology, I will be able to understand how the body functions as one ages. Having the ability to know and expect what the body will do is helpful in identifying and preventing problems in the aging population. Pursuing a degree in Biology and seeking a job in medicine during this healthcare reform is difficult, however, I want to dedicate my time to saving and helping others.
