In this ever changing world of communication and information technology there is a need to protect information whether personal or professional in nature. Jobs exist to place skilled information security specialists so their watchful eyes keep business from lost resources and people safe from identity theft. It takes a thrill for keeping the peace, ethically finding flaws in software, or forensically piecing together a cyber-mystery which makes these people valuable resources to the global society.
If I could do one job with which I spent the remainder of my life doing it would be Cyber defense/security. In my youth I was introduced to information technology and a passion for understanding how it all worked has been an engrained enthusiasm since. At nearly 30 years of age, active duty military, and in my junior year of undergraduate studies in Cyber Security, I am ready to see this dream become a reality.
This education will not only allow me to fulfill my dreams of ethically exploring information technologies in all of its splendors but also grant me the chance in defending this nation from cyber terrorism and criminal acts as well. My goal is to continue applying myself to my undergraduate program and graduate in 2015. From there I will apply to the graduate program and strive toward a Cyber Security job while maintaining my position as an Active Duty employee in the United States Air Force.
