Having many opportunities in my life to take the wrong road, I’ve landed in a comforting situation where no matter what happens from here, I will always have my career. Creating smiles in the eyes of my patients is a comforting thought. After contemplating many different careers I’ve chosen nursing.
Nursing to me is more than medication, treatments and skills. Nursing is caring, compassionate and rewarding. I plan to take all my life experiences, knowledge and skills into my career and really make a difference. My personality allows me to give a piece of myself to every patient that I come across. I feel for people, I understand people, and I know how to comfort.
My plans going forth are to get my associates degree in nursing. I am currently accepted into Anoka Ramsey Community college where I will finish my ADN, while currently working at Presbyterian Homes and Services as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Expanding my career allows me to work in Hospice care, where sometimes comfort is all there is. Holding a hand means more than any other measure. Helping our loved ones at the scariest time in ones’ life takes a special and strong person. Knowing how to communicate with just smiling eyes says more to a patient than anything else.
