My dream job is to be the owner and operator of a nonprofit organization that specializes in helping children and their families. A few of the ways my organization will help is by providing counseling, a safe environment for after school activities, helping kids apply for schools and scholarships, and helping families in their times of need. Whether it be providing assistance in applying for jobs, or finding places to stay in times of need, my organization will help families come and stay together in the worst of times.
In order to do that I will receive my Bachelors in Psychology in May of 2015. After that I am going to go straight into a Masters program for Counseling and Business management. I will use my education to get more experience working and volunteering for counseling centers and programs for troubled youth. After working for a few years and gaining knowledge and experience with youth I will start ‘The Sarah Jane Nonprofit’.
My organization will change the world, even if it’s only on a small scale. It might not reach to the other side of the world, but I know that even if Sarah Jane makes life easier for one kid or one family in need of a safe place, it will change THEIR world. If Sarah Jane only makes a difference on a small scale, in a small way, it’s better than not making a difference at all. Showing love and compassion for a community is my dream.
