At a young age children are molded into what they will become their entire life. Life is all about a “monkey see monkey do” type of principle. I believe it is most important to impact a child while they can still be formed. I also believe being a young age sports coach is the best way to impact a child. Sports are a way for kids to make friends, become better people, better improve personal health, and most importantly be involved in their community. If a child decides to play sports then the key to all the aforementioned qualities is the coach. The coach is like the key to a child’s success on and off the field of play. If a coach really devotes his or her time into the children and genuinely cares for the children it will reflect and the children will respect the coach and be more prone to listen and take in life skills. A coach not only teaches a child to play a sport but morals such as: sportsmanship, self-confidence, the ability to support others, and a broader outlook on life. I firmly believe that my coaches as a kid were some of the most impactful people in my entire life. Till this day I still stay in touch with them and remember the little things they taught me during my younger years.
