If I could make a living doing what I love to do I would without a doubt be a professional musician. Playing music is a therapeutic experience that is extremely fun and expressive. I have been a musician for 13 years and have gone through some amazing experiences and performed in beautiful places. Pursuing advanced training in music has taught me many valuable life lessons and traits such as tenacity, hard work, and perfectionism. Music is an important and powerful tool to change the world because it allows you to spread messages through communities and reach people who otherwise may not hear you. Music is powerful because it creates a strong emotional response and bond. Music is a powerful tool of unification and is great at bringing people together. As a resident of a somewhat dangerous Black community I can use music as a tool to reach people who otherwise may not hear me and I can have a large impact and a lot of potential to change things.
