Today’s youth often hears that they are the future of the world. Society stresses their importance and stresses their development beyond what many children can handle. While each night of their mandated education is taken up almost exclusively by hours of homework for assorted subjects, their energy and resources are spread thin. Teachers and administrators claim to understand, yet not once in the thirteen years I was in school did I see a change for the better. Devoting my life to what I love most would mean devoting my life to bettering the lives of children. Whether it be helping out in their home lives or advocating for them in a courtroom, there are children everywhere who need someone in their corner. I want to be that someone. I want to change the world by changing it’s future.
