Like everyone else, I have big dreams for myself and the world. Growing up I know I have always wanted to somehow make a difference in the world. As Ghandi has said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Although there are endless possibilities in what I could do to reach out to the general public, I have come to the conclusion that I would want to earn a living by doing what I love most and that is becoming a counselor specializing in families and children. Although the most rewarding aspect of it would not be the pay, but rather the internal aspect where I feel good knowing that I could make a difference. I have been through just about every tragic occurrence in my life that you can think of and I would very much love to use my life experiences to help those in need. I believe my true love and passion for families, children and helping others out would aid those to make everyone’s lives better. There are several ways I would go in setting up my goals in order to make my dreams become a reality. The very first step I would take is to finish getting my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services. While doing so, I would counsel myself because in order for me to counsel others, I have to help myself first. Once I have received my degree (and perhaps may need to further my education even more), I would put myself out there to seek job opportunities for counseling/social work. From there, I would be there for the families and children who are in all different types of life situations and I would be there to mediate and come up with the best solution(s) in order to make their lives better.
