The most unique route an Accounting major can take is to become a college professor. When I tell people I am majoring in Accounting, they all expect me to go on and say “I want to be a CPA.” However, my dream is to become a professor to help students, like me, make it in this crazy world. Throughout my two years at community college, I had incredible Accounting professors. They not only taught the material well, but they were able to provide me with the knowledge I would need to make it in the real world. They shared their experiences and knowledge to help me make my own way. They pushed me to be the best I could be and to take risks. They taught me that I do not need to be afraid of stepping out of my comfort zone to accomplish great things. Without them I would not be where I am today. As a student entering a new stage in my life, it was vital that I had them to help me make my way and become the person I wanted to be, someone to help me succeed, and someone to help me realize my goals and my dreams. I feel that it is important to be one of the “Mr. Feenys” of this world for future students who may someday find a cure for cancer or do something amazing, to teach them to love life, and appreciate all the little moments that come their way.
