In today’s “dusty” everyday life, it’s easy to get built up by negativity and forget about that little something we all have called a spirit. I believe making any form of art from music to splash of colors on a canvas, is us sharing a part of our spirit with another being. It’s an invisible wordless connection that can do so much more than what we give it credit for. I know you and I both have heard the phrase “music heals one person and therefor the world”, million times by now and let’s face it we all put it in a category called “cliche” but seriously think about it. Remember the last time you were heart broken and you ran to your ipod and listened and cried to music till you passed out? Remember the last time you fell in love and bought Lionel Ritchie’s full album? Well, maybe you’re not as dramatic as I am but the point is I want to be that good music composer that makes good music to help saving your good soul out of some bad trouble.
As a music composition major my plan is to get the most I can out of school. Learn everything my professors teach me and make as many connections as I can. I need to always get inspired and learn from others and remember the key to success is working hard, never give up and most importantly just like Jim Carrey said: “always choose love over fear”.
