I wholeheartedly believe everyone deserves unconditional healthcare though the pediatric population is where my passion thrives. My goal is to provide comfort, protection, and healing for every child that I am privileged to care for. Assisting patients and their families through difficult times in life is what I know best. The adversities I have overcome have given me a relentless passion to do all that I can to help comfort others in times of distress, guide them through grief, problem solving, goal facilitating, and implementing the changes into their life. Nursing has given me many opportunities to assist pediatric patients but it is obvious my scope of practice is limited. I am completely devoted to augmenting my education to be more directly involved in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
Pediatric patients are defenseless; children require substantial advocates who are willing to be their voice and ensure their needs are met in every feasible aspect. Our convoluted health care environment is invariably changing, requiring nurses that serve in specialty positions to have the highest level of scientific knowledge and clinical expertise. My aspiration to acquire the skills and knowledge in caring for acutely ill infants, children and adolescents is attainable with the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at UCSF. The dexterity of the program is intriguing and undoubtedly a paramount opportunity. Nursing is more then just a profession; it requires adoration and a natural inclination to serve others. My purpose in life is to serve others to the best of my ability.
