I remember telling my siblings that if I got paid to read, then I’d be a billionaire by now. I just love to read, especially fiction because they allow the reader to travel to unknown worlds in where anything is possible. Therefore, if I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be by reading.
Through my new found career, I would change the world by encouraging more people to pursue their dreams, no matter how impossible or strange they are. I would first start off my reading to children at schools, hospitals, and at the local community center. I would read to them “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” because this series is what has encouraged me to continue to reach my goals, even if they are “impossible.” By reading to these children, I will show them worlds in where there are endless possibilities, and in where anyone can be a hero, even themselves. I would also read to teens because during your teen years, you seem to feel lost and with a lot of pressure, and through books, one realizes that it’s okay to feel lost and that our problems aren’t as horrible as those book characters who not only have to save themselves but the rest of the world as well; talk about pressure. In fact, I would read to anyone who was willing to listen because sometimes we all need to find that one world we can escape to.
