Better Late Than Never
I want to make a difference in my family, as parents we have high expectations from our kids, but we should demonstrate with actions that education after high school is important. Money and materials in general are part of how youth individuals developed in life, parents have a big part of that success. When I was young, I didn’t have the opportunity to attend college. It took me more than 20 years to make to college for several reasons the language barriers and my fears. I step up and took the decision to start late. I’m proud to be first generation in college because my parents didn’t went to school.
I want to be a Social Worker because this career gives me the opportunity to do what I enjoy the most and that is helping. After finish college I want work in a school or a hospital. I want to be involve with the community and I want to give classes for parents that didn’t have the opportunity to continue with their education and let then know that its possible. Learn from their experiences and apply the good things in my roles as mother, wife, and community member.
