If I could earn a living doing what I love most, I would work with foster children, both current and past, to change their circumstances and outlook on life. As I former foster child, I know what it is like to feel lost in the system and kicked around from house to house and school to school. Because I know what this pain is like, I would love nothing more than to help others that are going through or have gone through the foster care system. My first step to making my dream come true is well on its way. I am attending Pikes Peak Community College and I am studying in their social work program. During my time in school, I will have opportunities for internships and I plan on seeking one’s that are involved in the foster care field so that I can find the best place in Colorado Springs to make the most difference. I would also continue to connect with other foster care alumni to network and give support to any that need it. After graduation, I would take my place with my chosen agency and begin to change the world, one foster child at a time. I would advocate for each child and help support both the foster parents as well as the natural parents wherever possible. Please help me to make this dream a reality!
