Earning a living for yourself or your family can be a curse and a privilege. In one aspect you are providing for your family, seen as a hero. On the other hand it can come as a burden, day in and day out forcing yourself to go to a job you hate for a fraction of what you spend. Work is simple defined as such, Working. Some jobs aren’t the best but we put up with the circumstances for the money. To provide is a god given right, some people do it better than others, wiser and more financially responsible than others. Most people struggle to keep their heads above water for seven fifty an hour so then can put food on the table. There is a proverb that says “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.” this saying has always resonated with me, I find it to be one of the most inspiring words simple because they are true. I have taken jobs just to provide for my family, working grueling hours for meager pay only to be disappointed with my paycheck. Now at twenty seven years old with a seven year old child I have decided that this choice to work my fingers to the bone is the wrong one. Being a single mother at a young age has given me a disadvantage in the world. It has had its benefits and blessings in the way of motherhood but as such comes the struggle to stay afloat. Struggling to balance motherhood, childcare, school, time, work, money and a place to stay are in constant rotation. Finally at twenty seven I can balance these things with a simple solution. Education for the career I am passionate about, being able to go into a field where I would provide confidence and elation to other women is phenomenal. Being a Cosmetologist brings me so much pleasure in knowing I am making a difference in the way people see themselves is a great honor. Being about to provide for my family, help build confidence in other woman and be able to do what I love doing most is the greatest blessing a girl could ask for. Having a connection to the strength and empowerment to women is and encouraging prize for myself. Bringing joy to young girl and showing the path I have taken to get there is one of the most rewarding aspects for doing what you love for a living. In conclusion I would like to close with this, “Do what you are most passionate about and you will never work a day in your life.”
