Growing up, seeing people work their lives away to pay the mortgage confused and scared me. I admired those that worked to live, but didn’t live to work. Since I can remember, I wanted to grow up to be a humanitarian with a focus on serving others. Honestly, I’ve always wanted to be a volunteer and depend on money as little as possible. To join the Peace Corps has been a dream of mine since I was a tween. Being a life-long volunteer will change the world because it devalues currency. Mine currency will be helping others. My life strayed off the education path into the working world when I graduated high school, but I have found my childhood dream once again. I am in progress of my first college degree, an Associates of Arts in Liberal Studies and plan to transfer to Carroll University and major in Global Studies. I want to travel, experience many cultures, learn other languages and experience the holistic nature of being a Human.
