My heart burns with a passion to speak into the lives of youth. I want to become the world’s greatest teacher, one who can forever change the lives of his students. I know that sounds a little on the fantastical side but given my background it’s not so farfetched. I was a high school dropout, a boy so blinded by the folly of his youth that he walked into a grave he dug himself. I want to be the kind of teacher who could have given me something more to live for, one who could have helped me realize my passion for writing. Young people are impressionable, what is said to them by their teachers will be either encouraging or discouraging. Whether they intend to or not, teachers will change the lives of their students. I have passion to write and to teach; no matter what wall tries stand in my way I will tear it down. I will be the teacher who can truly make a difference. I will become the teacher I so desperately needed in my youth. Teaching is indeed a sacred vocation, a life dedicated to serving the future generations. I want to pass the torch of education to the many generations I will never see. Abraham Lincoln once said “The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next”. Teachers are the ones who change the world, I for one want to make it a better world.
