A picture is worth a thousand words is my favorite phrase because If I could make a living off of taking pictures I would do it in a heartbeat. Even though I chose to pursue a medical career, photography would be my next career choice. I would use photography to travel and raise awareness to the citizens of other countries about the poverty and disease of other countries. My photos could be used to enhance public service announcements or advertisements. I would capture a photo and use it to portray a message that can only be seen to be understood. I could use photography to encourage people to enhance their own experiences by traveling to the beautiful locations that I captured through my camera. I would use photography to enhance the life of the people around me to get them to explore the world. If I were to major in photography, my goals would be to enhance my techniques and then apply for programs that would send me to another country. I would then use that trip to start a portfolio. I would make a calendar with locations I have visited to help raise money that would benefit a good cause. I would become more involved with groups that focus on raising money for countries to feed or treat children and use my photos as examples of how the donors would be helping. Once they put a face to who they would be helping they are more likely to contribute.
