Music is my passion, it is what I love most. Music has helped me through tough times and helps me to express myself. I also love working with kids and making them smile, helping them learn new things. If I could do anything in the world with those passions it would be to teach music to kids and have money be no obstacle. I believe music can change the world. Music is this one universal language that allows everyone to relate to one another. When children play an instrument it is proven that they are better students. I want to help kids do well in school and find that creative outlet that some kids so desperately need to do well. Lately many music teachers are getting let go because of school budgets. If I could I would invest money into extensive research of how music affects kids and their brain function to hopefully prove how crucial music truly is to the growing mind. Thus, hopefully saving my future job and many others current positions. The start of this journey will begin this fall as I attend Hartwick for Music Education so that I can earn my teaching degree. Within this process I hope to use the colleges resources to investigate the effects of music and perhaps write my senior capstone on it. Thus, providing me with important research that may help me gain a job in the music field but also help others to maintain such positions.
