They say some kids always knew what they wanted to be when they grow up: a Firefighter, a Policeman, a Doctor. For me, it was a Scientist. All those science books I read as a child, looking at the structure of an atom, naming the planets in our solar system (there was nine back then), seeded in me dreams that were as big as the universe itself. While my adolescent years have been hampered with the distractions of a social life, my focus has been re-attained in my college years. I was not allowed into many science classes in college, because I did not meet the math requirements. So as I studied math to catch up, I fell in love! I’ve decided to devote my time and study to mathematics, one of the most purest types of study, and become a mathematician. I hope to work with other scientists and engineers to develop innovative technologies of the future. My first goal is to obtain a Master’s degree in mathematics, and maybe go on to a doctorate level. I have just begun my journey!
