If dream jobs were love, then mine would be to inspire lives. Working in education has taught me that one is only as talented as they uplift others to be. The steps I will take to become an educational plan counselor will include the completion of my bachelor’s degree in Sociology. I will then work as an adjunct counselor to start, and finally accept a full-time counselor position. When a student arrives at my counseling office, we will discuss the many resources available to them. Many of these resources are online, but some students find this inundating. Too often, it seems that the lack of humanity becomes a detriment to our fellow people. I will strive to add equity and exuberance to student appointments, after all it is their life. Students will be provided with clear and concise information and ample resources to make their dreams come true. My follow up rate will soar as each happy, successful student I guide will gladly contact me to celebrate their degree, new job, or promotion. I imagine my back bulletin board filled with student photos and messages of hope, success and accomplishment. To inspire lives really is the greatest fulfillment.
