Many people around my age are trying to figure out their careers and personal paths in life. I would be lying if I said I was not doing that myself. But now, I do have an idea of what I want to do. My career choice would be to help others. I want to do that by getting a job in the medical field.
Some people claim that whoever wants to go into the medical field is doing it for a stable job and for the money. This is partially true. But if you ask most people who are doctors or nurses, they would say they do want to make the community a better place and help out. They do want have a positive contribution to society. I want to be part of the positive contribution.
I always want to help out on mission trips and going to less fortunate areas of the world. During high school, I went on two mission trips and the experience was surreal. You really connect with other people throughout the world. I plan on doing this by joining “Doctors Without Borders.”
Doctors Without Borders is an organization that sends doctors and nurses to people worldwide who need medical aid to people affected by conflicts, poverty, and disasters. Working with Doctors Without Borders would allow me to be a personal difference in a large-scale community. I would be able to help people in war-torn and impoverish nations.
