“What do you want to do when you’re older?” is the question that nearly every 18-year-old dreads getting asked upon graduation. In August of 2013, I joined a university to study Exercise Science. Throughout my freshman year, not only did my grades seem to drop, but my self-esteem about school did as well. That’s when I realized I was totally studying the wrong field. Months later, I was told by a parent of a close friend that my creative, upbeat personality would be great in Public Relations. I ended up going home that evening and began researching about the PR industry and realized that it was exactly where I belonged. It has always been a dream of mine to live in a big city, whether that be New York City or Los Angeles, and I know PR would be a perfect career to get into to get a job in one of those cities. With that being said, my goal is to take on beauty/fashion internships during the next few summers, and to eventually graduate with an entry-level job as a PR professional with room to climb the ladder and land an even higher-paying job in the beauty/fashion industry “No goal is unachievable” and “If you want something, go get it” are the mottos that I live by. I believe with hard work and effort, I will one day have an awesome job doing something that I love in one of the most extravagant cities in the world.
