My whole life I have heard “Do what you love and you never feel like you’re working.” My father is a mechanical engineer and he told me this when I was a young child, in my grade school years, and even a few years ago when I decided to go to college. In recent years I found myself discouraged about going to work. So I went on a search for what I would truly love to do. I found that protecting my family and friends is very important to me, and having fun doing what I do for a living. I began a degree Information Technology Security and fell in love in no time. The possibilities of satisfaction are endless in this field. I will be a cyber-security professional for the United States Government. I feel that the most honorable thing a citizen can do for their country is to take part in protecting the freedoms of their nation. Looking forward I can see myself using the education I will gain with the help of this scholarship to take me to a level of understanding in the cyber-security field to not only be an asset to this county but a hero in my children’s eyes. The future obviously lies in technology, the protection of this technology in vital. The world has already changed in many ways due to technology and I intend to make a severe impact on the future with the skills I have and will obtain.
