I am Myriam Personna a young 24 year old Haitian American nursing student. My parents migrated from Haiti and I was here, in the United States of America. I wanted to be a nurse since I was a little child. Every day on Career day I was dress like a nurse. In January 2010, my dream to become a nurse became more specific. I decided when I received my nurses’ degree. I would work as a missionary nurse. I want to help my family and other families who were negatively affected by the earthquake. I also want to travel to other countries that face other natural disasters. Not only, I would be tender to their physical needs but there mental and spiritually needs as well. The main reason I want to become a nurse is because I love human science. Anatomy and physiology is my favorite course. I am fascinated on the body functions and body’s ability to heal itself in certain circumstances. If I win the 1,000, 2,000 or 5,000 dollar prize it would be my first time winning in a contest. The money would help out with my school tuition of 24,000 dollars that does not include the ATI fees and lab fees. Financial aid grants only covered a small portion because the school is private. I have to take out on loans. I have an outstanding balance on loans from my pervious schools. This is a big challenged but I made it this far and I will not give up!
