If I could earn a living doing what I love the most, it would it be to combine my love of working with people, helping people, and science to promote and provide clean drinking water to the world. Clean drinking water is critical to everyone’s health and the ability to obtain nutritious food. Clean drinking water is needed not only by people, but also by the animals and plants that everyone relies on for nutrition. When we have clean drinking water, we will be able to reduce and hopefully eliminate some of the diseases that plague the world, killing people in some of less developed areas or making travelers sick when visiting other countries. To achieve the goal of being able to provide clean drinking water to the world, I would provide the resources necessary to supply clean water at a minimal cost by working with the communities that will receive the clean water to build the needed infrastructure. I would also use my scientific skills and spend time researching and working with other scientists to develop new, inexpensive, and simple methods of cleaning the contaminated water supplies in order to make the water safe to drink. I would strive to make my new water cleaning systems available to any community, anywhere in the world, at low or no cost so that the worldwide issue of a lack of clean drinking water can be eliminated and with it, disease and unnecessary suffering and death.
