A volunteering opportunity that I partake in throughout the year is serving at the Helping in His Name Food Pantry in Stockbridge, Georgia. During my service, I help to pack boxes with food and supplies for families in need of financial assistance. I also stay over after the shift has ended to assist the warehouse managers and workers in restocking, clean up, and taking inventory. This work, which can involve long hours and a great deal of energy, enables me to express my inner passion for being a helper whenever possible. Every box that I pack, pick up, or count while I’m at the pantry is benefiting someone in need, and that idea powers me through my day.
One of my life goals is to own and operate media enterprise that would include a record label, a publishing company and a production studio. Within this goal lies another aspiration: to have a long and lucrative career combining two things I love: helping others and creative expression. I see humanity as a huge family, capable of loving each other regardless of what may divide us. As someone who has witnessed the power of music and art in closing a divide between people, I’m sure that if the world just had more of these exchanges, it could become a better place. I want the music and the art that my company produces to be a catapult for those exchanges. I aspire to do my part in uniting the world through the arts.
