Throughout my college career I have spent many hours volunteering at The Center for Courageous Kids, which is a camp for children with life threatening medical conditions. If I could earn a living doing what I love most it would be to work for this organization full time as part of their medical staff. During my time at The Center for Courageous kids I have learned so much from these children, far more than I could ever teach them in return. There are some amazing children in this world who have gone through more than anyone ever should and I would love to give back to them by helping to take care of their medical needs. In order to make this dream a reality there a few things I need to accomplish first, including finishing nursing school. Throughout nursing school I plan to still volunteer at camp to gain more experience and upon graduation I hope to apply and become a full time member of the medical staff. Eventually I would like to go back to school and become a nurse practitioner specializing in pediatrics. Hopefully gaining experience through the camp and through my education will allow me to become the Center for Courageous Kids medical director someday. I may not be able to change the whole world, but I hope to change the world for some of the bravest kids I know, the campers at The Center for Courageous Kids.
