I have always been a creative person as well as a reader, so it stands to reason that I would become a writer. Writing fiction is my passion, and someday I hope to be a published author.I truly believe that I will achieve this goal, and that stories can change the world for the better.

Reading changed my life, and does the same for countless other people. Stories and poems inspire people. They provide people with characters to whom they can relate, and gives them a chance to escape from their troubles for a little while. I want to be the kind of writer who can bring stories to life, especially for young adult readers who need that escape and inspiration. When I was growing up, books were my best friends. They comforted me and helped me through the hardest times in my life, and I want to give that back.

I am working toward this goal by writing every day, submitting my work to literary magazines, and studying English Literature. I have also participated in National Novel Writing Month for many years, and by doing so I have already completed five drafts. While none of them are fit to be read yet, they are a stepping stone on the path to writing books that will improve the lives of young people the way my favorite authors did for me. If I can bring happiness to even one reader, I will have changed the world for the better.
