If I could earn a living doing what I love most it would be Speech and Language Pathology. Communication is key in society today, as it has always been. Imagine a world where different cultures couldn’t interact, or children with speech problems could not communicate, or victims of tragedies could never recover their ability to speak. This would be a very sad place. These are things I think of when I consider the importance of Speech and Language Pathology. My goal is to support people like I’ve mentioned regain the skills that they once had, or assist them in developing new ones so they can better communicate. I have always thought it would be so rewarding to see someone with a speech disorder recover and go on to be a famous speaker or someone known for their speaking skills. Ultimately, my goal is to help others around me to achieve goals that are within reach, and allow them to gain confidence with their communication skills. I would also like to educate others about what Speech and Language Pathologists do so other people can find their dream job.
