If I could earn a living doing something I loved I would be a speaker. Going everywhere I could, speaking to anyone who would listen. You may ask what this has to do with the title for my essay. It’s very simple, as a speaker I would be serving God, sharing His word, going wherever He would have me go, speaking whatever He would have me speak. I would travel the world changing hearts and changing lives, planting seeds wherever God would allow. God has called us to be lights shining through the darkness and as a speaker I would have plenty of opportunities. I would love and enjoy every moment. While I know that I have other brothers and sisters out there who speak God’s word boldly as speakers, teachers, and pastors. I also know that a new generation is rising up to take over as some of them enter their last years. Many speakers have impacted the world such as Billy Graham, Lee Strobel, Franklin Graham, and even Jesus himself preached to the multitudes. I want to set others on fire for God. I want to be the lit match that touches others who are unlit so they will be consumed by the flames of the Holy Spirit. I ask that you would sincerely consider me for the scholarship because I know that with this opportunity and God’s hand. I can use my B.A. in Christian Studies with Emphasis in Biblical studies to impact and change the world.
