What would I do if I could do anything and make a living? I would apply myself to making devices to assist individuals with damaged or missing limbs. My passion for this subject arose through helping my dad. My dad was shot in the neck at the age of 2 in a freak accident, severing the nerves to his hip and finger muscles on the left side. He can walk and kind of run despite his hip, but his hand is not much use. I am studying engineering with the goal of helping people like my dad. Restoring the use of hands and arms, legs and feet. Allowing people who have never had full control over their bodies, or have sacrificed themselves for our freedom and country, to regain control and have the same chance on life that others have. By studying engineering, I will increase my natural mechanical skills and be able to create devices that I do not currently have the skills to design and build. With a team of people with my same vision, we would be able to touch thousands of people in even more advanced ways than I can imagine.
