“If you could earn a living doing what you love most, what would it be, and how would it change the world?” My answer is simple, I have had a passion for agriculture since my first word, “cow.” Now, what is the one thing we all cannot live without? The younger generation would probably say Wi-Fi but most of us know the answer is proper nutrition. The sole purpose of agriculture is exactly that, to provide nutritious food to billions of people. What is more rewarding than knowing you help feed the world? That’s what my dream career is, raising beef cattle so I can provide protein rich, nutritious food to people in need. Research states by 2050, farmers are going to have to feed over nine billion people. To me, there is no greater reward or challenge than joining a task force of farmers who are striving to provide food for our ever growing population.
I recently graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Animal Science and am continuing my education by pursuing a Master’s of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Furthering my education in Animal Science, I will develop the necessary skills to start an innovative beef business. Simply put, my goal in life is to help others so by combining this with my love of cattle seems to be the perfect way to earn a living doing what I love most and change the world.
