My Dream to Help Others

If I could earn a living doing what I would love the most, I would be a physical therapist. This has always been my dream, but I did not know how much I would want to be a physical therapist until I had to be a patient in physical therapy myself. This past November, I was playing soccer and I tore my anterior cruciate ligament. This injury was devastating to me because I loved playing sports and I lived an active lifestyle. A week after I had the reconstructive surgery, I began my rehabilitation at physical therapy. At first I was nervous about how painful the rehabilitation would be, but my physical therapist made me feel comfortable. I now love physical therapy and I look forward to going there. My physical therapist became my mentor and my inspiration. By becoming a physical therapist, I would change the world by helping people recover from injuries that prevent them from doing the activities that they love and I would help people recover from injuries that make daily activities painful. I would also like to inspire people the way that my physical therapist inspired me. I have already made a step to make this dream a reality by transferring to Azusa Pacific University. I will graduate with a degree in Applied Health and then start their physical therapy program. I will dedicate myself by studying and doing all the work that is necessary. I will also gain some experience by volunteering at hospitals.
