Making My Dream a Reality
I am already on track to earning a living doing what I love most. It is of course teaching. I think my major is very important to society and our future. The late Whitney Houston once said, “I believe the children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.“ I plan to teach them well. It is extremely important to study history to learn about past human behavior. By learning history we can acquire a past understanding of how the world came to be. The causes and effects of different historical events can be analyzed to help people learn more effective ways to deal with conflict. It also allows humanity to reflect on itself and make better choices in the future.
As of now I attend Old Dominion University. I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in history with a master’s degree in education. My goal is to graduate by 21. I am 18. I will do this by taking at least 18 credits a semester and by taking summer classes. I am confident that I can do this in the next three years. I want to jump into my profession and make a difference as soon as possible.
People still want to undermine teachers without understanding that this is one of the most vital professions. Teaching history is also vital. Human behavior is unpredictable at times. However, understanding history can provide valuable insight for future generations.
