In order to change the world, sometimes you have to start with a little ripple that becomes a big wave. For me, the stone that created the ripple was my love of animals and the desire to care for the injured and sick. If I could earn a living doing what I loved most, it would be working as a mobile veterinary technician. I began the steps to attain this goal by completing a bachelor’s degree in zoology and will commence studying for my associate’s in veterinary technology in the fall. Once I complete this degree, I intend to work in a clinic as a certified veterinary technician while I continue my education for a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology. In my area, there are many people who are unable to obtain veterinary care for their pets due to poverty, illness, and infirmity, and I want to bring the care to them. I hope to improve the quality of life for pets in my area and to work toward healthy, happy pets further and further into the outlying areas. I hope to change the world by bringing joy in the form of tender care and healthy companions, which would translate to an improvement in the quality of life for people in need. In addition, I hope to use my knowledge to educate the public about proper care for their pets, as it is education that spreads like a wave around the world, changing it for the better.
