All of us have pondered the question, “What am I going to do when I grow up? I really do not know right now.” Personally, I love to sing. There is musical talent in my family. I will do my best and make that dream happen. I will take singing lessons. I am 50 years old. Hey, it’s never too late to learn!
Small voices tried to steal my dream. “You can’t sing!” My heard and soul was divided. “What should I do?”
Then the doubts cycled through my mind. “Am I good enough?” Will I really make a difference in today’s world?” Sure I can!” Lyrics and melodies can have a positive influence in our lives. A mentor came along and opened my eyes and helped me see that this world has possibilities. She told me to silence those voices that say all hope is lost. It’s up to me to make the choice to live my dream and make a difference. Do not let those small voices in my head persuade me to quit. Keep on going!
First thing she told me to do was to believe in myself. At times we all get discouraged and no one listens to what we say. We need to find the courage to map out our goals and pursue our dream. When you meet a goal, pat yourself on the back and move onto the next one, and before you know it, you will be living your dream!
