As quoted by my childhood hero Albus Dumbledore, music is “a magic far beyond all we [at Hogwarts] do here”. I cannot bring myself to think what my life would have been like if I wasn’t able to express myself through music. It’s something that has truly inspired me to push myself as far as I can so I can succeed and be happy. My dream job would be something in music, making people smile with the melodies and harmonies that I have fallen in love with over the course of my life so far.
In the 5th grade, I was invited to watch a concert of the London Symphony Orchestra. I tagged along, because I was a naturally curious child. I sat in my seat, not knowing what to expect, as I had no real experience in classical music back then. The orchestra came out, and I was enthralled from the first tuning note to the last cadence of the finale. I wasn’t able to say that musical terminology back then, but that concert inspired me to do music. I will never forget the elegance of the players on the stage and the sheer beauty of their sound.
It might be more than an uphill battle to change the world with my music, but I am willing to accept that. If I could make one person as inspired as I was, I know I have done my job. The LSO made it happen, so why can’t I?
